CFC Blog #218: A Midweek Burst of Joy

After asking Leonore if she might share an anti pet peeve that is related to "home", wherever/whatever that may look like, she ended up sending me quite a few! And I couldn't help but want to share her detailed anti pet peeve list with the rest of the community. So, here they are! I hope they serve as a little midweek pick-me-up. They definitely put a smile on my face. I've found that when I ask new contributors to share an anti pet peeve, they find it hard to just stop at one! As it can perhaps be fun/easy to list them out once in the right mindset :)

Happy Wednesday everyone! Have a great rest of your week.

A Midweek Burst of Joy

Here are my two favorite anti pet- peeves with regards to home...

(photo enclosed below) California. I attended my first West Coast Crosby event and immediately felt at home with everyone. For the first time ever I could have been seated next to anyone in the room and immediately felt at home. Everyone there felt like family, tribe and I adored them from the minute I met them.

Yesterday my new neighbor, Emilie ( age 6) knocked on my door and said, “ Hi! I am your new neighbor. We’ll be great friends! I love this place!” and then she goes on to list all the cute things about our building that I have not thought about for a while - the nesting squirrels, the fat cat, the rose garden, the puppy twins on the first floor, the proximity to swans ( will send photo later ), the proximity to ice cream. Emilie reminded me of me and my thoughts of home and adventure at age 6, and I look forward to meeting her parents too because they instilled thought in her that the unknown (moving) is exciting rather than scary. Peony season. Peonies are my favorite flowers.

More anti pet peeves from Leonore...!

Finding my favorite detergent scent (fig) in an eco friendly version at my local store.

The mother of my Scottish friend (who moved from Edinburgh to Oslo) brings genuine scones and clotted cream every time she visits (often) for me too Scones are the best!

Home - being around people that have your back 100%. So it’s not a predetermined space, it’s rather the space where your well wishers are. The people that want you to be happy, successful, at your best making great progress for yourself and others.

People who greet strangers with a big smile.

Another neighbor who always covers the hallway in festive balloons if I tell him about something I am proud of. This way the joy I feel from even a small win stays on for days.

The Etsy shop owner who put additional products in the shipment because she felt international shipping was very expensive.

When favorite authors announce a new book of theirs will be coming soon.
