I am the Executive Director of Food Recovery Network (FRN). FRN is a movement across the country that seeks to ensure good food is eaten by people and not thrown away. It has been an incredible honor to work within a movement--a diffuse group of people all across the country linked together by the concept that we can feed our neighbors in need and help ease negative effects to our environment through food recovery. I am passionate about leadership development, change management, and supporting systems change as an effective approach to supporting thriving communities. Outside of work, I love hiking, biking, traveling, reading and being with my friends.
The “well of reciprocity” is a concept that I learned years ago when I was “coming up through the ranks.” I hope it might be of use to you.
I most often apply the concept of the well of reciprocity to work settings because your relationships with coworkers and bosses are quite different from your family relationships. Though the emotions can feel the same, when we are stressed, frustrated, confused, tired and annoyed, how we talk to our work folks is different from how we talk to our home folk.
