#243: Grateful-Themed Anti Pet Peeves ROUND #1
With the holiday season upon us, and with a rather unprecedented year (almost!) behind us, I wanted to take some time to reach out to different members of the community to have an opportunity to share what everyone is thankful for. I called these gratitude-themed anti pet peeves in the spirit of thanksgiving and being appreciative of all the little joys despite life being quite different the last 9 months. So I hope these little notes fill your heart with gratitude as we begin the week.
*ALSO! This is just the first of THREE lists to be shared. So if you submitted an anti pet peeve and don’t see it here, more are still to come!*

Grateful-Themed Anti Pet Peeves
I have to say, for the past year, one thing that I have been thankful for is my friends and family. I have gotten to know some really neat people even with the pandemic, and some of my colleagues have become friends because of the pandemic, and just having more people to lean on, and other people feeling comfortable leaning on me. Just recently, a former neighbor of mine asked me to bring her to a doctor's appointment and that was the first time she ever asked anything of me and I was so...grateful! I now have a sourdough starter that was born in NYC that a friend of a friend gave me and I've made pretzels, cakes, brioche, english muffins and given it all away to my neighbors. I'm grateful for people, humans! - Regina Anderson
I am thankful for the opportunities I had to spend more time with my wife and family during this unusual past year. I’m very grateful that this has drawn all of us closer together. - Landon Eckhardt
I'm grateful for the special kindness of New Yorkers in this season within the city that I love -- on the street receiving warm greetings through smiling eyes, in stores and restaurants there are new expressions of hospitality (e.g., bringing free beverages or extra food to those in need), and amongst our neighbors, as we enjoy short convos with laughter behind masks in our lobby and hallways. - Amanda Eckhardt
I am grateful for my wife's recovery from a broken Tibia. Modern medicine is miraculous. The other thing I am grateful for: I have this metal box on my desk that allows me to find answers to almost any question with unbelievable precision and speed. I mean, come on. - Grant McCracken
I’m immensely grateful for the time I’ve gotten to spend with my wife and family this year. I’ve traveled less this year than I have in the last decade – and I’ve spent more time with my wife this year than I have in probably the last 9 of those 10 years. I’ve actually found that we’ve found new romance, new things to laugh about and new love. It’s been an eye opening experience, and one I’m tremendously grateful for. - Rob Rose
I'm thankful that Covid-conditions led to each room in my childhood home to be filled with a different member of my family, and for all the breakfasts, lunches, and dinners we otherwise would not have got to spend together. Not to mention adding two additional fur babies into the crazy mix! (photo attached) - Amanda Posa
Besides being thankful for my incredibly supportive wife and family, I am extremely thankful for my Fresh City Kitchen team that has pulled together and worked hard to help get us through the mess of the past 6 months.
Here are a couple of pics of the team masked and unmasked. I’m the one in the middle with the beard (photo attached) - Pete Minich
Grateful that even with all of the COVID restrictions, I was able to travel from Boston to Chicago to play a round of golf with my 94-year old Dad this Fall (photo attached) - Tony Ursillo
