CFC Blog #217: CFC Website Changes and Highlights
Hello! Before I dive in, here is a fresh anti-pet peeve for you…
I am currently lucky enough to be working from Nantucket Island, where I have been going since I was a kid. One of my favorite views in the world is here: looking over the moors to a red and white striped lighthouse here called Sankaty that sits right on the water. I got to ride my bike to see it this morning, and seeing it for the first time every summer never ceases to make me smile.
NOW back to business...
Today’s blog is simple - we wanted to highlight some of the changes we’ve made to the Community for Change website and talk a little bit about why we decided to dedicate some time updating it.
If you would prefer to look at the website and skip the details - no worries! - here is the URL. BUT if you are curious to hear more details, please read on!

Why did we make these changes?
We’ve always been a community without borders, but in 2020 even the groups within the CFC that would be able to meet in person have not been able to. Now more than ever, I am grateful for the “backbeats” we have like the Writers Circle and anti-pet peeve collection Amanda works so hard on gathering that help carry on a sense of connectedness despite the physical distance.
Here are some things we are especially psyched about -
- We added the piece Rabbi Irwin and I wrote earlier this year called “The Spirit of the Community for Change” that outlines the core design principles of the CFC.
- We’ve given the “Featured Orgs” tab a bit of a facelift - now you can more easily see the nonprofit organizations that are affiliated with the CFC as well as the “CFC Meets Joy” pieces we released this year.
- We’ve added an "Anti Pet Peeve” section - there may be hundreds of anti-pet peeves here we’ve collected over the years
- A new format for how we show the Writers Circle blogs - hopefully easier on the eyes!
- The CFC Instagram feed at the bottom of the homepage
We redid the layout of the website too that I can’t really describe, you’ll just have to check it out for yourself and see!

To end, I’ll drop in an anti-pet peeve from Amanda:
"When my sister makes homemade pesto using basil picked fresh from the garden.”
Have a great weekend!!!
